Tata's Nexon has always been one of its most successful products. And now with the new launches like Kia Sonet and the popular Hyundai Venue let’s see how well does it match up with it's competition.

EXTERIOR
First up, the new look which frankly is a big departure from
the earlier one in fact it's so thoroughly updated from some angles it looks
like much more than a facelift a lot of this is down to the larger looking nose
it now gets a higher SUV like bonnet the large C-shaped bracket makes it look
wider and with the force cuff plate the chin is now more SUV. Around the side
the white ceramic highlights are a signature of the Nexon and help define the
rising belt line and it now gets black in C pillars to make it coupe like, the
new union jack tail lights look interesting and with Nexon now written across
the rear it's easy to identify this one as the facelift. The Nexon is well built and has also scored 5 star NCAP rating.
In short you get LED DRLs both at the front and the rear you
now get ESPs there's also traction control, brake assist, auto wipers, auto
lights and tire pressure monitoring system.
INTERIOR
It has a 7 inch Touchscreen infotainment system with Apple
Car Play and Android Auto. The Nexon also gets Tata's Ira connected car tech and
included in this software suite is the what three words navigation.
The cabin is more familiar but still substantially updated so
quite a lot new on the inside first up is this Tri arrow design that comes
right across the dash, there's this new steering wheel the flat bottom steering
wheel cruise control you get this new instrument panel a digital instrument
panel and a sunroof. There are less practical spaces to install something like
a cup holder, strange thing is there still isn't a secure place to put your
phone. The umbrella holders in the doors are nice, bottle holders on all 4
doors, the big cooled glove box with two
compartments is well cool and then there's the express cool function (cools the
cabin 70% fast), express cooling on windows roll down it even reminds you to
put the window up via a voice prompt. Nexon has always been a comfortable SUV
to sit in this, the ruby wide cabin and it's pretty good in the rear as well comfortable
in the back especially due to the long seat the long swab gives you tremendous
thigh support there's a fair amount of knee room you can keep your feet under
the seat and despite the arched roof there will be decent amount of headroom as
well (as tested by some popular reviewers). Luggage space in the rear is a
useful 350 liters and you can fold and flip the seats down as well.

On paper the engine delivers good power.
It has driving modes ECO, City and Sport. All of them work quite well ECO is OK when you want to conserve fuel and Sport does give you an extra kick.
(As tested by some reviewers) A result to 0-100 came up in 13.01 seconds the launch was a bit slow but after a while Nexon clearly shows out. Nexon will really excel over broken roads, you can carry on over bad patches often without really having to slow down. Overall the Nexon delivers plenty of confidence through it's steering, little bit of stiffness in the suspension helps the Nexon in the handling department too with its well-weighted steering and actually decent body control the Nexon feels comfortable at speed.
Also it has traction control in all the variants.

Nexon is among the most spacious and comfortable compact SUV in its class and with the additional goodies and kit on offer it feels more up market too also with prices ranging from 7.09 to 12.79 lakh for the top end. The Nexon is a great value for money, quality levels still aren't quite the same as some rivals and the petrol engine to be even smoother still if you are among the many who think this is the best looking car in its class (like me) and are looking for a comfortable compact SUV surely check this one.
