History of The Toyota Fortuner!!

Today we're gonna talk about the different topic and will discuss the history about  Toyota Fortuner, yes it's a humongous midsize SUV. It's known for its practicality and insane road presence. It's been more than 10 years of launch of the Fortuner and it gained lots of love from customers. 

So let's start the success story of the beast Fortuner, the first generation Fortuner was unveiled in the December 2004 at the Thailand international motor expo and was available for sale in early 2005. In 2005, growing demand for mid-sized SUV makes Toyota to launch the Fortuner. Fortuner was made on the platform of international multi-purpose vehicle, this is the platform in which the Toyota Innova and the Hilux pickup truck were made by looking at the growth of cells the Toyota decided to launch it in Indonesia and other Southeast Asian countries after three years of launch in 2008 Toyota first time facelifted the Fortuner it was redesigned to look as the Toyota Land Cruiser and it was the first time in which all-wheel drive variant was introduced, the facelifted functional gets new exterior interiors and also some new features were added like bluetooth connectivity, electric adjustable driver seats, EBD brake assist and ceiling ac for second and third row passengers. After one year in 2009 finally Toyota launched the Fortuner in India it was assembled at the Karnataka plant of Toyota kilo square motor, function of production increased to more than 950 vehicles per month from the initial 500 units per month initially there was only one dream sold which is the3 liter 1KD-FTV engine 4x4 option with the leather upholstery manual transmission as standard which was the most powerful SUV in its segment in 2011 the another facelifted version of Fortuner was launched, in this new version it looks elegant and bold in this version Toyota increases the length of the Fortuner and some cosmetic changes were also done like new fenders, new headlamps, new grill new fog lamps, new bumpers, new tail lamps and also new interiors and after one year in 2012 Toyota first time introduced the automatic transmission in the Fortuner the second generation of Fortuner was on board. On 16 July 2015, In Australia and Thailand the new Fortuner was made on the Toyota's new global architecture platform and with a new age design language which is also used in the 11th generation Toyota Corolla. The third generation Fortuner was launched in India in 2016. Toyota also introduced two new engine options which delivers best-in-class power and torque Third generation Fortuner comes with many new technologies like LED DRLs, different drive modes, paddle shifters, all around sensors. In September 2017 TRD version was introduced this was the limited edition version which was developed by the Toyota racing development team Fortuner are known as the most surfaced SUV in it's segment and it comes with so many safety features like seven airbags, ABS plus EBD, active traction control, downhill assist, heal assist, vehicle stability control and others other than India Fortuner assembled in Pakistan, Indonesia, Thailand and Malaysian Fortuner remains successful SUV for Toyota. In Indian market Toyota sells more than 2000 units of Fortuner every month which describes the trust of people over the Fortuner and Toyota Fortuner is not only an off-roader, it is also known for its reliability, premiumness and build quality after all it's a Toyota. This fortune was liked by many SUV enthusiasts. And now in January 2021 they've launched a facelift of the 2015 Fortuner. There is not much of a difference from outside only the front grill has changed. In the interior It get's features like 9 inch Touchscreen with Apple Car Play & Android Auto, wireless charging and ambient lighting and some more features with the Legender. One major change is the engine, now the engine produces 201bhp with 420nm of torque (2.8 Diesel one). So, that's it the Fortuner.
