Ford EcoSport 2021

 With the Hyundai Venue storming the sales chart and the newly launched Kia Sonet on winning praise and accolades for its design and great overall package, it's easy to forget the car that started the craze for compact sub 4 meter SUVs in the first place that's right! I am of course talking about the Ford Ecosport. Now over the years as the competition mounted Ford gave it's small incremental updates to try and keep it in the game. Now however, it's time for the big one the midlife facelift.

2. EXTERIOR

                                   



On the exterior front there is a huge aggressive grill with Ford written a bit small and that's lined in chrome and resembles the grilles on the Endeavour. The headlights are bigger and feature projector elements, and a new LED DRL signature and the indicators are now migrated into the bumper just next to the halogen Fog lamps.

Coming towards the side, there are 16 inch Alloy wheels (Titanium) 205/60 R16. For braking: Front wheels have Disc and the rear has Drum brakes. The ORVM's are electrically adjustable & foldable with puddle lamp. While unlocking the vehicle ORVM's automatically unfolds. On the top, big sized roof rails with Antenna on Top. Coming back towards the side of the vehicle, it has passive keyless entry both on driver & passenger side. 

Coming towards the back, starting from the top, there is a wiper & defogger. Coming down, There is a full sized alloy wheel, on the left there is a Ford Ecosport badging and on the right, the variant you've purchased badging. Rear lights are the same as the 2013 Ecosport that are halogen bulbs and within rear lights there is an electromagnetic tail gate. Beneath the wheel there is a rear camera with reverse parking sensors.

3. INTERIOR


On the interior front there is a 9 inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple Car Play & Android Auto, but the down point of it is, it doesn't have any navigation. Beneath it is the A/C vents with automatic climate control. Bottommost is are USB ports for charging & there is also a 12watt socket with some storage spaces. Coming towards the driver side door, There are controls for all-four power windows with driver side Auto up and Auto down, Controls for the ORVM's and central locking. Steering is leather wrapped with Touchscreen controls on the right, MID controls on the left beneath it are the cruise controls (only for the top variant S ). Steering wheel is just for tilt not for reach. Right of the steering wheel are the controls for headlamps & fog lamps and for the indicators. Towards the right are Wiper controls for both front and rear. Instrument Cluster is very basic that is analog with 4.5inch MID display that shows: distance to empty, mileage, alerts, Trip A & Trip B, etc. The vehicle also comes with push button start/stop that is placed towards the left. Fabric upholstery is been used for the interior. Driver side seat is height adjustable with headrest. Seats are pretty wide but can be a bit tiring in Long trips. There is a fixed armrest also in the front. Towards the left is a decent sized glovebox with Tablet & Pen holder. It has a normal day/night rear view mirror. Moving towards the rear, when you open the door, the door has power window controls and bottle storage with some practical amount of storage to keep your keys, etc. The rear seats are good as it has good under thigh support, recline angle is good enough and two headrest to offer with an armrest at the center. The drawback for the rear is that. it does not offer rear A/C vents.
